Bathroom Tile Trends

Bathroom Tile Trends have some firm favourites but there are always some new and emerging trends on the horizon.

When choosing bathroom tiles there are so many to choose from it can be a minefield but having been in the business for such a long time we know there are some firm favourites which are popular year on year then there are trends which become popular due to the improving technology allowing new patterns and textures to be created.

Marble is a timeless classic which provides an elegant yet contemporary look, of course real marble comes at a huge cost so with so many marble effect tiles which are surprisingly similar it provides a great option. Marble is available in both large format and smaller tiles and can be used on both walls and floors. As they tend to be neutral in colour, this allows diversity in colour schemes to be used to brighten up the room. The Estatuario Blanco tile is the perfect option.

Metro Tiles, the long standing classic and we can see why. There are so many colour ways available to choose from they will suit any house. Within a bathroom it can look fantastic if a neutral colour such as white or cream are used for the majority of the wall then a different colour used in the shower or as a splashback behind the sink to add a pop of colour.

Also using the metro tiles you can create very different looks by just fitting them slightly differently, the traditional brick bond is a popular one but they look great either stacked vertically or even herringbone. Another option is to add random tiles of another colour to a base colour so there is some variation.

A fairly new trend for bathrooms is the introduction of patterned tiles which really have the wow factor. There are several options of patterned tiles which can be used on the wall and floor. When using such a statement tile it’s suggested to create a feature with them, so either use them in the shower then pair with a larger, plain wall tile. Or if you choose a patterned floor then use a plain coloured wall tile so you don’t detract from the beauty of the patterned tile. Shown below are the Nikea tiles used a floor tile and a feature panel within the shower for that wow factor.

Geometric tiles are another emerging trend which are incredibly classy and can be used in a variety of ways. Whether used as a simple splashback to add character to the room or for all the walls. Colours can be combined easily and with different layouts you can create different looks as shown in the photos. The Hive and Persian both have unmistakable style and will turn heads when people walk in the room.
