Inaugural Tile Choice Trade Day Proves a Huge Success
The inaugural Tile Choice Trade Day was held at our Bilston branch on March 20th 2019 which provided the opportunity to bring the suppliers to our regular trade customers. This enabled them to ask questions about products which they use daily and to see demonstrations of the new, innovative products which are available within the industry. The suppliers who attended included Instarmac, Larsen, Tile Rite, Rubi Tools, James Hardie, Warmup and Fila.
On the day the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity also attended, we held a charity raffle as well as taking donations on the day, we are working with the charity on several events this year. Midlands Air Ambulance Charity operates and funds three air ambulances across six counties. Funded entirely by donations, the charity relies on support from local people and businesses to raise the £9 million needed each year to carry out on average 2,000 missions. The aircraft enables emergency medical care to reach remote locations, usually unreachable by land ambulance, often responding to some of the most traumatic incidents including road traffic collisions and sports injuries.
Instarmac demonstrated the new Ultra Tile Fix Pro Level Rapid which is ready to tile on after just 45 minutes, a fabulous new product which will enable tilers to complete jobs in record time.
Larsen had the new Primer Grip 360 which is perfect to use when tiling over existing tiles, formulated with advanced polymers and special fine aggregate, it is a universal multi-purpose primer which can be tiled over in as little as 15-20 minutes.
Tile Rite offer fantastic cutting wheels and blades which the tilers were able to test out and put their skills to practice on the stand. These small accessories are essential to all tilers so it’s interesting to see the cutting edge technology being displayed.
Rubi Tools displayed an extensive range of cutters, suitable for even the largest of tiles. Demonstrations were provided and traders were able to put them to the test themselves as well as offering a free cutter service to all traders.
James Hardie, supplier of Hardie Backer cement boards were on hand to provide advice on how to easily cut and install the boards as well as explaining the benefits of using the boards no matter what the job is.
Warmup Underfloor Heating, the market leader who are consistently improving and expanding their product range had the latest underfloor heating option, the DCM Pro cable on show, to enable the trade to explore the various options available to them.
Fila Surface Care Solutions offer a range of products from daily floor cleaners to complex chemical cleaners which can remove the most stubborn stains from the most delicate surfaces. This provided a fantastic opportunity for the trade to gain knowledge on which product to use in a certain situation and for them to ask any questions they had to the extremely knowledgeable team from Fila.
Whilst the trade were able to gain knowledge and test out new products, the day wasn’t without fun and freebies. There were basketball shooting competitions, a free prize draw and charity raffle, both with fantastic prizes which were kindly donated by suppliers. As well as a free goody bucket and either a breakfast sandwich or burger for all traders. We offered exclusive on the day discounts on many products as well as pallet deals on tiles and adhesive.
The Tile Choice Trade Day was a huge success thanks to the suppliers who attended, the staff and most importantly the burger van, an easy way to satisfy the majority of people, along with a free pen!
