The achievement of a flat, regular tiled floor is dependant on the surface to which the tiles have been fixed.
Any deviance in the substrate should ideally be corrected before any fixing takes place otherwise the irregularities in
the substrate could cause a lipping of the tile edges and leave an undesirable finish to the floor.
To check the suitability of a floor to receive tiles, lay a 2 metre straight edge and rotate it through 360 degrees. As the straight edge covers the floor, the gaps appearing beneath the bottom edge should not exceed 3mm.
Any gaps that appear greater than 3mm should be corrected using one of our self-levelling compounds.
OUR STAFF WILL BE HAPPY TO ADVISE AND RECOMMEND THE CORRECT PRODUCT TO USE. |
