Walsall Football Club
In October 2011 we seized an opportunity to sponsor the main and biggest stand at Walsall Football Club. It is the biggest advertising board in Europe and it towers over the M6 motorway between junctions 8 and 9 – it has become somewhat of a local landmark. The sign has only been replaced three times since it has been built, and is clearly visible to approximately 883,000 drivers that pass every week.
The sign itself was an incredibly challenging job to install, as it consists of 52 panels which are each 10ft x 5ft. It had to be fixed by a team of professional abseilers that were employed by a team of signage specialists. As we have five branches locally, and many of our staff members and customers are committed Walsall Football Club fans, it made perfect sense for us to sponsor the club.
Since we have taken on the stand at Walsall Football Club, we have joined forces with them and participated in a number of charity events helping local causes – listening to guest speakers like Kevin Keegan and Andy Gray. We also sponsored the celebrity charity football match that was held in aid of Compton Hospice and Smile For Joel on 13th May 2017. Tile Choice has also attended many of the football matches both home and away, as well as presenting the awards for man of the match.
Walsall Football Club have enjoyed a rich history since the two leading clubs in Walsall, namely Walsall Swifts and Walsall Town, merged to form Walsall Town Swifts in 1888. To find out more information, visit their website at www.saddlers.co.uk.
